- Key Holding Duties, as per SOP
- Maintain a recorded register of departmental keys deposited and issued back out to staff.
- Provision of OOH access for NSM to specific high-end areas, as per SOP.
- Access control badges issued/edited/monitored.
- Accompany staff with lodgements to the security room and cash office with internal cash transportation.
- Maintain and distribute lodgement bags to cash handling departments.
- Record lost / found / missing or stolen items in accordance with hospital policy.
- Covering Reception during the day and evening for absence due to illness, meetings, lunch.
- Covering reception in conjunction with the Reception roster: OOH, P/H, weekends etc.
- Administrative duties in regards to early and OOH admissions of patients
- Porter duties: monitor and maintaining adequate wheelchair levels.
- Transferring/assisting patients and visitors with mobility issues to and from hospital areas and car parks. Manual handling training to be provided and recorded
- Mortuary procedure, as per SOP. Assist with transfer from ward to mortuary and to and from trollies
- Assist patients/visitors with directions or other assistance required
- Deal with customer/staff/patient queries in a courteous, effective and
- efficient manner
- Deal with entry-level car park equipment issues & maintenance. Such as ticket jams, coin blockages, system errors etc. Escalation process as per policy
- Maintaining and monitoring ticket levels in entry exit barriers
- As per hospital policy, the reacting to and responding to:
- Kelsius Temperature Monitoring
- Intruder / Panic Alarms
- Fire Alarms
- Cardiac Arrest system – while covering the reception desk
- Internal BMS system and escalation
- Conference room set up and reset for internal and external events. Monitoring and maintaining conference room temperature, lighting etc.
- Monitoring and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment to our patrons. Main reception monitored with any issues escalated to relevant departments, housekeeping, engineering, FOH lead etc.
- External monitoring in particular adverse weather conditions, umbrella bags adequately stocked. Any external elements/issues communicated to relevant parties.
- Waste management in line with hospital policy. General/recycling and clinical waste removal from hospital and consultant areas. Forklift and procedural training to be provided
- Monitoring and emptying the Linen Chute
- Frequent and high visibility presence internally and externally.
- Partaking in H&S, Fire and general audits as required.
- Assists FOH Lead / Engineering team with Alarm testing
- Accompany the nuclear medicine deliveries on Saturday mornings.
- Dealing with Materials Management/Theatre/Catering departmental deliveries (out of hours).
- Help with delivery or post & goods during busy periods e.g. Christmas time
- Daily Logs completed and issues escalated.
- Internal communication and reporting mechanisms adhered to.
- Monitor CCTV images. Reporting and escalating issues or CCTV requests as per the GDPR policy.
- Removing non-staff from parking in all areas of the campus other than the public car park.
- Ensuring a safe, clean and accessible environment for our patrons.
- Traffic Management throughout
- Salt the hospital grounds, parking areas and pathways during frosty weather. (External company in place to complete this.
- Conduct checks during adverse weather to ensure a safe environment after the external contractors have completed their duties.)
- Communicating with relevant parties any issues such as lighting, signage, damage etc.
- Take all the necessary steps to ensure the maximum security and safety of the working area, staff and visitors within it and all equipment and supplies contained therein
- Identify hazards, assess risks and report same as per hospital policy to relevant personnel, and in accordance with individual responsibilities under all Health and Safety legislation and regulation
- Be familiar and comply with manual handling & lifting techniques and provide support where required
