- Responsible for leading plant capital projects as assigned.
- Presentation of project charters and business case proposals for review with management team.
- Development of project documentation including technical design, scope documents, and key performance indicators (KPI’s) in accordance with corporate, division and site requirements.
- Preparation of project plans, working closely with key stakeholders on site on business needs and timing of project completion.
- Development of installation plans, and completion of scope of all project work in accordance with quality, operations, and EHS requirements
- Presentation of project updates to Management including reporting on Accomplishments/ Upcoming Activities/ Risk & Mitigation & Key Milestones, on a regular basis.
- Ability to effectively manage project communication at all levels with key stakeholders and contractors
- Responsible for ensuring full implementation of all projects in line with site validation programs.
- Play a critical role on the validation review board and play a key role in driving successful completion of all validation packs.
- Development and execution of validation protocols (FAT, DQ, IQ, OQ PQ).
- Execution of change controls.
- Management of any project associated Quality issues and CAPA’s.

- Maintain plant safety at the highest level with a zero-accident target and with immediate response and thorough investigation and corrective action for all hazardous occurrences and accidents.
- It is important that GMP is a main priority in any operation carried out in this job function.
- The Senior Projects Engineer is responsible for consulting any SOP’s for any job task he/she may carry out and ensure they fully understand and adhere to the SOP.
- Housekeeping is a critical function of all jobs and the Projects Engineer is expected to ensure all craftsmen working under his/her supervision ensure housekeeping activities are observed and carried out appropriately. It is important that the Projects Engineer is in adherence to the Housekeeping SOP. • Help establish with the Principal Program Manager the departmental goals, schedules and timetables for activities.
- Establish communication lines with all other departments e.g. Manufacturing, Q.A., Materials, Human Resources, Technical Operation Support and Finance.
- Plan and schedule work in accordance with plant demand and available manpower.
- Maintain adequate stores stock levels and ensure proper in/out control.
- Ensure compliance with Company International Global Standards, GMP & Environmental requirements.
- Responsible for promoting good employee relations.
- Ensure all employees and contractors under his/her direction are fully familiar with all Safety Rules Regulations.
- Ensure all efforts are made to reduce product cost by improving efficiencies.
- Drive a Continuous Improvement culture through effective RCA & PPS.
- Ensure all employees follow correct procedure when carrying out hot work, working at height and confined space entry ensuring work permits are fully in compliance with SOPs.
- This job function will change where update procedures to GMP, EHS, Technical/New Equipment, Quality procedures and SOPs are made.
- Manage Project Engineering Department finances within the annual organizational plan
- Deputize for Project Engineering Manager in their absence.
- Support Business Excellence initiative in the plant.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent discipline.
- Monitors progress of individuals, teams, managers or technical individuals towards departmental goals, monitoring costs of projects and compliance to related regulations.
- Minimum of 7 years relevant experience in Engineering.
- Knowledge of an Automated Manufacturing Environment (understanding of packing equipment a distinct advantage).
- Good mental ability to logically follow a line of though for problem solving.
- Considerable and continual care and attention is needed to avoid substantial damage to equipment.
- Continual attention needed to ensure plant reaches its annual production plan.
- Failure on the incumbent part not to exercise due care could cause repeated small losses or occasional damage.
- Environmental non-compliance will result in EPA/Legal censorship.
- Ensure Capital budgets are controlled with all expenditure adding value for money.
