The participant will be trained in the following: What you'll learn Till/Cash handling/credit card training Merchandising Window Dressing Time management Customer care Communication skills Teamwork Adaptability/Problem Solving What you'll do Maintain operational standards that are consistent with shops operating procedures. Ensure that any interaction with customers is carried out in a manner that is courteous and professional. Maintain accurate records of all sales and payments and to ensure that agreed procedures regarding cash handling and security are observed at all times. Maintain a safe environment for customers, volunteers and staff and where appropriate to immediately report to the Shop Manager/Area Manager any hazard that puts the safety of customers, volunteers or staff at risk. Ensure that agreed stock management procedures are observed and that merchandising and window display opportunities are maximised at all times. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support your placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection. This optional module will fulfil your accredited training requirements for the WPEP.
