2 x references and Garda Vetting are required for this post. Based in our Cork office, Age Action South advocates and campaigns on behalf of older people in the region. Age Action also runs two key programmes in Cork, the Care & Repair programme where DIY work is carried out for older people free of charge, and the Getting Started programme where volunteers teach older people to use computers and the internet. The objective of the Care & Repair Maintenance/Van Driver position is to support the Regional Manager in providing a professional repair and maintenance service to clients of the Care & Repair Programme; I.E. provide small DIY jobs for older people in Cork City free of charge. A full B driver's licence is required and a reasonable level of DIY skills are an advantage. Full training will be provided to support your career. Duties will include… - To carry out DIY type jobs for older people as a member of the Age Action Care & Repair team - Be helpful, friendly and respectful when dealing with clients - To complete relevant paperwork. - To carry out all reasonable requests of the Regional Manager and undertake any other reasonable duties as required - To attend meetings and training courses when necessary - To abide by company rules and regulations Those interest should contact their local INTREO Office and have their name logged against this reference number.
