Senior Speech & Language TherapistSpecified Purpose Full TimeRef. No.: DIRMDT015Saint John of God Community Services Liffey Region supports individuals with intellectual disabilities to be active participants within the community that they live. Applications are invited for the position of Senior Speech and Language Therapist, based in the South West Dublin & North Kildare area, on an 18-month specified purpose contract.The successful candidate must have:
  • A recognized qualification in Speech and Language Therapy including full CORU registration.
  • A minimum of three years’ post qualification experience working as a Speech and Language Therapist, including experience working with adults with intellectual disability.
  • A qualification in dysphagia with at least one year’s post-graduate experience working in adult dysphagia.
  • Experience working in the area of Alternative and Augmentative Communication.
  • Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Initiative, flexibility, excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • A person-centered, rights-based approach to service delivery.
  • A keen interest in the area of adult intellectual disability.
  • A full, clean driver’s license with access to own car.
Desirable:
  • IASLT membership.
  • Lámh qualification.
  • Knowledge and experience in the area of Dementia and family and staff training.
