Our client, one of Ireland’s leading retailers is looking for a Food Buyer to join their growing team. The successful candidate will be a confident people person who can adopt a hands-on approach. South Dublin based.Package

Responsibilities of this Food Buyer position include:

Manage food category performance, focusing on sales, margins, budget, and inventory.
Build strong supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and manage partnerships.
Identify and execute opportunities to increase additional income streams.
Source and develop innovative products, managing them from concept to market launch.
Stay informed on market trends and conduct competitor analysis to ensure competitiveness.
Plan core and seasonal product range to optimise assortment and stock levels.
Set and adjust pricing strategies to ensure profitability and report on sales performance to senior management.
Collaborate with the supply chain to ensure full product availability.

Experience required for this Food Buyer position:

Dynamic professional with 2+ years of experience in buying or category management.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail with strong project management abilities.
Demonstrates analytical expertise and experience in financial systems.
Strong commercial acumen and a focus on delivering business value.
