The Department of Political Science, School of Social Sciences and Philosophy is seeking to appoint a Teaching Fellow in Political Theory, to commence on 1st August 2024.The Department of Political Science wishes to make a Teaching Fellow appointment with a special focus on contributing to the development of our undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in political theory. In particular, this includes supervision of advanced research projects to be completed by an increasing number of undergraduate students in Political Science, as well as further developing the quality of our research-led undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. The Teaching Fellow should also be prepared to teach modules in at least one other subfield of Political Science.The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong experience in teaching and have experience in teaching as teaching assistant or lead instructor for a variety of modules. The successful candidate should be able to teach and supervise undergraduate and masters-level dissertation topics in political theory, as well as to contribute flexibly across the range of the Department's teaching needs. The successful candidate will have an active research agenda in political theory as well as an ability to engage with research in other subfields.The normal teaching load for a Teaching Fellow in the department would be six semester-length modules per year. A single semester-length module normally requires 22 hours of FTF teaching.
