The Diamond Coast is looking for a Night Manager to join the Team.About The Diamond CoastLocated in Enniscrone, The Diamond Coast Hotel commands a prime location overlooking the breathtaking Enniscrone championship golf course, dune lands and stunning five kilometres of golden beaches, perfect for water sports, swimming and long walks. The luxury accommodation at the Diamond Coast Hotel comprises of 99 well appointed, spacious and tastefully decorated guest rooms. Many guest rooms enjoy views over Enniscrone Golf Course and the stunning dunes.The Coral Restaurant at the Diamond Coast Hotel offers a warm welcome, excellent cuisine, great wines, relaxing surroundings and friendly hotel staff to attend to your every need. Additional facilities include a crystal adorned banqueting suite perfect for your wedding day, seating up to 400 guests, meeting rooms and Stir Bistro.MAIN DUTIES INCLUDE:Reception
  • Ensure the smooth running of the reception desk in line with Standard of performance during night shift and maintain a high level of guest service.
  • Ensure all procedures for guest check-in/check-out are adhered to.
  • Ensure any services provided are charged correctly.
  • Ensure a detailed pass over is given to early reception shift.
  • Be responsible for the night float and any monies taken during the night shift.
Night Audit
  • To receive and check cash and documentation received from food and beverage areas and to process same according to cashiering procedures.
  • To ensure all areas balance according to cashiering procedures prior to running night audit.
  • To report any discrepancies in charges, postings etc., to Accounts and Reception.
General
  • To ensure correct use of light, heat and power overnight, thereby reducing wastage.
  • Confirm all early duty staff report to work on time and to record any late or no shows.
  • Follow correct procedures in documenting sick calls.
  • To ensure complaints are dealt with in accordance with set procedures.
  • To ensure detailed pass over to Early Duty Manager and to record relevant details in Duty Managers Book.
  • Complete a detailed account of all accidents and incidents which occur in line with procedures.
  • Set and implement minimum standards for night duties as necessary.
  • Ensure all night staff are trained in accordance with Minimum Standards.
  • To ensure night staff are on time for shift and in correct uniforms.
  • Allocate specific duties to each member of staff and to check that these duties have been carried out to the agreed standard.
  • Complete Night Roster two weeks in advance, ensuring adequate cover is provided in accordance with the level of business and in line with wage cost allowances.
  • Report any maintenance defects encountered or reported during shift.
  • To carry out any reasonable requests by Senior Management.
Customer care:
  • To ensure all guests receive a genuine, warm, friendly, courteous welcome on arrival and during their stay
  • To anticipate guests needs whenever possible to enhance quality service and in turn enhance guest satisfaction
  • To assist in achieving Hotel and Departmental goals
  • To assist guests at all times
  • To become fully aware of 100% guest satisfaction and to implement agreed practices at all times
  • To ensure all guest queries are handled promptly and efficiently
  • To use initiative in relation to the speedy resolution of guests queries or problems
  • To report on all guest feedback to a supervisor or Manager
Standards:
  • To carry out departmental standards in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures and the Employee Handbook
  • To ensure the Hotel standards are achieved at all times
  • To assist in ensuring that standards are maintained
  • To wear agreed uniform and to maintain uniform according to the agreed standard
  • To ensure that the highest possible standard of personal hygiene, dress, appearance, body language and conduct is maintained at all times
Training:
  • To attend all statutory training
  • To attend other training sessions as per the departmental training plan or as when required by management
  • To assist as much as reasonable in the coaching and training of new staff
Health & Safety responsibilities:
  • To ensure all accident, incidents and suspicious occurrences are reported to the relevant people and to assist in providing all relevant backup.
  • To maintain own working area tidy and in good shape. To report defective materials and equipment to appropriate individual
  • To be familiar with and adhere to all rules and regulations of the hotel with specific regard to:
  • Hygiene
  • Fire procedures
  • Health and safety at work Security regulations
Morale and motivation:
  • To work with the management team to ensure good morale is maintained within the team at all times
Communication:
  • To maintain good liaisons and communications with management and all other departments
  • To regularly attend monthly departmental meetings when requested to do so
  • To offer any suggestions or ideas for improvement to head of department once a month
Other:
  • To carry out any other reasonable tasks as requested by management.
