This enables people with diabetes to live the best and fullest lives they can.At Abbott in Kilkenny, you can shape your career as you help shape the future of healthcare.This is how you can make a difference at Abbott:Based at our new Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC) manufacturing facility in Kilkenny, Ireland the site’s Operation System Engineering function currently has an opportunity for a Senior Manufacturing Systems Engineer to join their expanding team.The team supports the on-going development, validation, deployment, and support of data systems which integrate into our manufacturing operations, enabling ADC to provide innovative state-of-the-art solutions that facilitate the company’s Factory 4.0 initiatives.As the Senior Manufacturing Systems Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for software systems employed in the production of our Diabetes sensors. Key areas of ownership will include the design and implementation of software-based systems for the real-time acquisition and storage of data from our production machinery, as well as system resilience in areas of automated back-up and recovery, and cyber security.Areas of expertise are expected to include, but are not limited to, software interfacing with electro-mechanical systems in the operational technology layer, software development, database design and SQL query language, data management for real-time acquisition and storage, and cybersecurity.
