Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Job Description

Duties Main Duties and Responsibilities: • To undertake technical production of programme features, news reports, sports reports, adverts and community notices etc. ( editing/mixing/recording/ scripting et al • To undertake research for additional programmes and features as required • To attend outside events / outside broadcasts/ promotions and road shows as required for recording purposes • To act as studio manager as required • Assist in the production of documentaries • To fulfil rota responsibilities for all operational aspects of the station in consultation with other staff such as logging and uploading programmes/ equipment bookings and studio bookings • To assist in ensuring that all broadcast output is of high quality and adheres to the terms of the BCI license, ACR programming policy and current broadcasting legislation • To provide technical support to presenters and service users as necessary • To work with volunteers for voice-over work on ads/ jingles and community notices etc. • To assist in the delivery of new programme ideas where possible, especially speech based packages • To manage the advertising schedule and ads system • To undertake administrative work in connection with programmes and production • To archive programmes and speech packages • To assist others by demonstrating correct use of equipment • To provide assistance as required to voluntary broadcasting personnel • To take direct responsibility for the production of an equal share of scheduled programmes • To assist in the development of volunteer presenters to be able to operate independently
