We offer a diverse number of life-enhancing services to our clients and every member of our team is essential in achieving this.The Activity Manager role is an exciting position at one of our fast-paced Twin Summer Centres across the UK and Ireland. You will oversee the implementation of the Activity and Excursion Programme, running from breakfast to lights out, for international students under the age of 18*. You will be fully trained and supported by our experienced Summer Centres Head Office Team, reporting to the Centre Manager on site, and leading a team of enthusiastic Activity Leaders in the day-to-day operation.The role of Activity Manager is the perfect opportunity to gain hands-on managerial experience within an international setting. Hours: Various*Some centres may include international high school students who turn 18 before their arrival at the summer centre, there will be appropriate provision and safeguarding measures in place to accommodate them on which you will be fully trained.Responsibilities:Safeguard and promote the well-being of all students on site.
Live on-site for the duration of the contract on a 6-day-per-week rotation; Full Board and Accommodation is provided free of charge.
Attend a paid two-day face-to-face training event before the start of the summer (dates TBC).
Oversee the implementation of the Activity Programme maintaining high levels of quality in the delivery thereof.
Actively promote the Activity Programme maintaining and ensuring the inclusion and participation of all students.
Lead a team of on-site Activity Leaders, including carrying out their induction and guiding them on all aspects of their role, operating as a pillar of guidance and support.
Ensure activity plans are fully understood by all Activity leaders.
Liaise and regularly meet with Group Leaders on Activity and excursion plans taking their views into consideration, treating them with respect and high levels of customer service at all times.
Ensure all bookings and tickets are organised and match participation numbers.
Liaise with coach companies and drivers on pick-ups and drop-offs.
Meet and collaborate with Host Institution staff on all facilities use and hire, maintaining a flexible approach, always positively representing the company and its values in a professional manner.
Monitoring team performance through observations and feedback sessions conducted in a motivationally positive way.
Implementing client feedback in line with company-approved policies and procedures.
Managing the expenditure budget in line with company-approved procedures, maintaining cost effectiveness at all times.
Promote the use of English amongst students at all times.
Actively ensure all students and staff are wearing lanyards at all times.
Maintain and promote positive student behaviour.
Ensure all risk assessments are carried out, completed, and read and understood by all staff prior to each activity and excursion.
Respond to emergencies.
Comply with health and safety at all times.
Carry out any other reasonable tasks as required by the company.
Education /Qualification
GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths at Grade C or above.Desirable, but not essential skills and experience:First Aid Certificate completed within the last three years.
Experience of working with under 18s.
Experience in managing a team.
Educated to degree level or currently working towards a degree in education, sports science, dance, drama, or any other related qualification.Additional Information:Activity Managers are paid £800 - £1,030 per week in the UK, and €880 - €1,143 in Ireland depending on the size of the centre and previous experience, plus accrued holiday pay of 12.07% in the UK and 8% in Ireland. Each week includes 1 day off.You will be:Eligible to work in the UK and/or Ireland.
Aged 18 or over.
Be committed to safeguarding and the promotion of student welfare.
Native or C1 level of English.
Excellent organisational skills.
Ability to lead and motivate a team.
Flexible and able to manage priorities.
Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.Please Note:
