An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Manager to join a dynamic and growing engineering organisation. This role will be based in Co. Meath and will play a key part in managing the commercial performance of large-scale electrical and engineering projects across Ireland and Europe.The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all commercial aspects of projects from pre-construction through to final account, ensuring value is maximised while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction.Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the commercial function across multiple projects
- Oversee cost planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Manage contracts, including negotiation, administration, and risk mitigation
- Ensure effective cost control and value engineering throughout project lifecycles
- Work closely with project teams during pre-construction to provide commercial input on design and constructability
- Monitor project performance, identify risks and opportunities, and implement mitigation strategies
- Prepare and agree interim valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Manage relationships with clients, subcontractors, and key stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with contractual, legal, and regulatory requirements
- Support and mentor junior commercial staff
- Proven experience in a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor role within construction or engineering
- Strong knowledge of contract forms and commercial management practices
- Experience working on large-scale electrical, infrastructure, or data centre projects is desirable
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills
- Strong financial and analytical capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline
- Strong focus on quality, safety, and delivery
- Commercially astute with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
