Doohamlet Community Centre, with the support of the Community Services Programme (CSP), is seeking to employ a part-time Cook / Kitchen Supervisor to oversee the delivery and growth of catering activities from the Centre, and will be required to work with other staff and volunteers to manage and increase catering activities in a sustainable and compliant way. The ideal Candidate will; - have relevant experience in commercial catering; - have experience in preparing and cooking/baking for large functions/events; - have the skills required to develop and implement systems and procedures necessary for food quality and hygiene standards; - work well with others, including training and developing staff and volunteers to provide support for catering events and activities; - manage costs, orders and suppliers; - be able to work flexibly to meet the needs of the Centre and to be able to cater for occasional evening, weekend or short-notice events. The post entails a wide range of duties which will require flexibility to meet the needs of the business and will be based on a 19.5 hour week (excluding lunch breaks). No additional payment will be made for additional hours worked. From time to time, Time Off in Lieu (TOIL) may be given for additional attendances outside of regular working hours. Flexibility will be required in relation to attendance and working hours, however the Cook is typically expected to work on site 4 days/week. A minimum of 3 days will be Monday to Friday, with hours worked between the hours of 9.30am and 2pm. Attendance on the 4th day will be determined in consultation with the Centre Manager and with reference to the needs of the business.
