Requirements of Health Care Assistant:
  • QQI Level 5 in healthcare (or equivalent)
  • 2+ years’ experience in elder care
  • OR Nursing/Allied Health/Healthcare -related Degree
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong supervisory and motivational skills
Key Responsibilities of Health Care Assistant:
  • Deliver high-quality personal care to residents
  • Motivate and support care assistants, and supervise assigned shifts
  • Assist new residents and help them feel welcome and secure.
  • Organise daily work plans with nursing staff.
  • Support all aspects of residents’ daily living-washing, dressing, toileting, dining, social activities and companionship.
