Senior Accounting and Tax Accountant

- Work autonomously on day-to-day tasks for their allocated portfolio - typically more complex entities and platinum clients in the team's portfolio
- Ensure deliverables for the allocated portfolio are met
- Support the target operating model by ensuring appropriate tasks are completed by more junior members of the team
- Assist the CAM with the review of work completed by junior members of the team and is a vocal proponent of the service/quality standards expected from the team when necessary during busy periods
- Adhere to agreed timeline/schedules - statutory and client deadlines, audit plans, internal work schedules such as iXBRL
- Support the CAM in providing guidance and training to more junior members of the team
- Foster strong client relationship
- Support change initiatives through participation in projects, sharing ideas and implementation of changes to procedures or new systems
- Responsible for the accurate preparation of primary accounting documents, accounting statements and reports required by the client including management accounts (periodic and annual) and roll-forward financial statements (IFRS and UK GAAP)
- Responsible for preparing compliance related filings (CBI and tax)
- Review accounting entries processed by Trainee and Client Accountants. Assist the CAM on the wider team portfolio when required
- Build and maintain strong relationship with clients and internal/external stakeholders.
- Perform daily work with high complexity (i.e. preparing and reviewing bookkeeping, management accounts, statutory accounts (both standalone and consolidated) under UK GAAP and IFRS, corporation tax returns, VAT returns, etc)
- Manage the audit process and support the wider team in adhering to the overall audit plan
- Support the CAM by ensuring that less complex tasks are appropriately allocated to the more junior team members
- Assist the CAM in reviewing the work of junior team members
- Provide support to junior team members (including on the job training) with complex work/calculations
- Oversee month-end and year-end close activities (balance sheet and cash account reconciliations, roll forward financial statement preparation, reviewing all reconciliations)
- Oversee VAT compliance, corporate income tax returns and other filings and support the CAM in overseeing the delivery of these tasks across the team portfolio
- Keep up to date with changes in accounting and tax legislation
- Provide technical support to the team
- Support the CAM in maintaining and maximizing revenues for the team portfolio including the invoicing cycle to ensure all fees are billed
- Professional qualification (ACCA/ACA/CIMA)
- Candidate with at least 1-year PQE
- Structured finance experience preferable if working on a SPV/SFS portfolio is desirable
- Resourceful, independent, and strong problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and communication skills, with strong ability to plan ahead and organize themselves
- Analytical structured mind set with ability to follow and build upon existing processes and ensure data is maintained with accuracy and consistency
- Fluency in both written and spoken English is required
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word is essential, along with experience of local accounting system
- Experience in a similar role from an accounting practice/client accounting administration/financial services business background with strong client servicing skills is desirable
- Autonomously work on a specific number of entities and their related recurring annual and day to day tasks
- Support process enhancement and continuous process improvements, utilizing systems as required
- Ensure the entities within client portfolio remain fully compliant with relevant local accounting and tax legislation
- Demonstrate the ability to make decisions based on insight and knowledge that impact the immediate team
- Accountable and responsible for ensuring high standards of delivery to clients
- Actively engage with clients to understand needs and will place a high priority on client service and satisfaction
- Prioritize clients' issues and address them accordingly
- Will keep up to date with business trends / changes in the law
- Can demonstrate the impact of own actions on immediate team
- Plan, co-ordinate and manage internal and external resources to deliver results in a timely, accurate and professional manager
- Informally manage expectations of more senior colleagues regularly
- Will share knowledge to ensure targets are met
- Ideally ACCA, ACA qualified with one year post qualification experience

- Preference: IFRS experience. Otherwise, UK GAAP may be considered as well
