Because when Cairn build, it’s Built For Good Cairn plc. has a unique opportunity for a high calibre Civil Engineering student who is eager to learn how a construction site operates and apply theory learned from college to the workplace. This role will enable the successful student to gain valuable on site work experience 4 days per week, and partake in online / on site college lectures one day per week. **Key Responsibilities** Typically the candidate will be expected to undertake and assist with the following duties: * Support the Site Management team (Project Manager, Site Manager, Senior Engineer, Finishing Foreman, and Health & Safety Officer) with the day to day running of the site * Work and learn from the Senior Engineer on setting out the building foundations for the development, using geospatial setting out equipment (e.g., Leica, Total Station) * Utilise engineering software tools to assist with engineering on site (e.g., CAD, BIM, Revit)• Assist the Health & Safety officer on maintaining the highest safety requirements and compliance for the site. * Assist the Finishing Foreman in managing the internal trades to deliver completed houses on time with an exceptional attention to design and detail. * Learn from the Project/Site Manager how the overall site is managed and how the program of works is completed. * Learn and utilise company systems and dashboards, including quality and programming technology.• Partake in company culture initiatives, and apprentice forums /events. **The Candidate – Key Requirements** * Eagerness and enthusiasm to learn. * Strong communication skills both written and verbal.• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure. * Ability to take initiative and the drive to get things done.• Leaving Certificate or equivalent **What we can offer you** * Competitive salary and benefits * Enhanced learning and development opportunities including tutoring support where required• Safe pass, manual handling and PPE * Opportunity for full time employment outside of term time
