Salary € 40,000-60,000The RoleAssistant AccountantMaternity Leave Contract (6-9 Months)KildareStart Date: ASAPSalary: €40,000 - €50,000Hybrid WorkingMy client is seeking to appoint an Assistant Accountant to cover a maternity leave contractThis contract will run for possibly 6-9 months, and the client is looking for someone to start as soon as possible.The successful candidate will be assisting with the weekly and monthly management accounts and preparing monthly accruals and prepaymentsA good working knowledge of Excel is required for this role.Experience within a manufacturing environment would be a distinct advantageThis role will offer a hybrid working model which is three days in the office and 2 days at home.Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare the weekly site P&L report, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to stakeholders
  • Review weekly and monthly overhead spending and report variances against budget and forecast.
  • Analysis weekly Distribution costs, identifying key drivers of variance against budget and forecast
  • Prepare monthly accruals and prepayments for overhead costs.
  • Preparation of budgeted and forecasted overhead spends for the sites
  • Ensure accurate and complete stock valuation on the balance sheet for all locations.
  • Coordinate and manage quarterly stock count audits, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Participate in ad hoc financial projects and initiatives as required, contributing to continuous improvement and business support
The PersonKey Skills:
  • Minimum two years' experience in a similar role, ideally within the FMCG industry
  • Part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) is desirable
  • Strong understanding of management accounting principles
  • Experience with accruals, prepayments, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with stock audits and reconciliations
