.Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide the full range of assistance as outlined below and in the individual Service Users service agreement in line with Irish Wheelchair Association policies and procedures.Personal Care – assistance with showering/bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing etc.Assist with sensory program, passive movements and social outingsProvide companionship and contribute to the social needs of the Service User, helping them to maintain a high quality of life.Communicate with the Service User, other colleagues with courtesy and respect.Record keeping.Any other relevant and appropriate duties which may be assigned from time to time.The role of Health Care Assistant(Personal Assistant) with IWA is subject to your continuous agreement to use your personal mobile device for the purpose of remote checking in/out at our IWA Client/Service User locations nationally. Please note that it is your responsibility to ensure that your personal mobile device is compatible with IWA rostering systems/programmes, from time to time this may require you to update your personal mobile phone or to download additional applications..You will be required where needed to safeguard children and adults from abuse orharm while adhering to IWA’s Safeguarding Policies and Procedures..Training and Qualifications, requiredMinimum 5 modules completed (be committed to finishing the major award) at QQI Level 5 in either Community & Health Services, Health Service Skills or Healthcare Support or other relevant qualification.Have experience of working with people with disabilities.Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a good level of spoken and written English.Be reliable, trustworthy and always maintain confidentiality.Be required to undergo a Garda Vetting process prior to commencing work.Be required to successfully complete mandatory training prior to commencing work.Full Driving Licence and access to a vehicle..BehavioursPerson centred approach.An ability to build strong relationships.Strong customer service focus.Flexible approach to work.High level of confidentiality.CompetenciesCommunicating and Influencing.Motivating and Empowering.Planning and Organising.Quality and Customer Focus.Accountability.
