Hartley People Recruitment in partnership with our client are hiring for a Design Technician in Enniscorthy.Our client, a growing engineering firm with significant contracts across the European data centre sector, is expanding its design team. They specialise in bespoke secondary steel solutions for major blue-chip clients. With continued growth and new phases of work approved, they’re seeking a Design Technician to join their team on site in Ballymore.The Role:

Develop fabrication drawings and detailed designs for secondary steel structures (e.g. handrails, staircases, bespoke fittings).
Collaborate closely with the fabrication team to clarify technical queries and ensure seamless production.
Work on projects associated with major data centres across Europe, contributing to high-profile builds.
Use Autodesk Advance Steel as the primary design tool, with training provided if transitioning from other software.
Participate in occasional site visits across Europe for measurements and project coordination (travel is infrequent).
Manage small design projects independently, escalating more complex issues where needed.

Requirements:

2+ years of experience in steel design, ideally in secondary steel structures. Candidates with around 3 years’ experience are particularly welcome.
Proficiency in 3D design software such as Advance Steel, Tekla, or SolidWorks. Experience with Advance Steel is advantageous but not essential, as training can be provided.
Ability to read and produce detailed fabrication drawings.
Strong communication skills for collaborating with colleagues on-site and overseas.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and willingness to take on varied projects.
