In this role you will report into the Financial Planning & Reporting Controller.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assisting in the preparing of the monthly management accounts for the group including preparation of month end reports, reconciliations, and reports preparation
- Ensuring a comprehensive month end file is prepared and reviewed to support all balances held at the reporting period ends and balances appropriately reconciled & reviewed on a timely basis
- Ensuring a robust system of internal controls operates over all transactions and taking appropriate action to ensure internal controls operate as required
- Adhere to and monitor compliance with finance policies and procedures
- Responsibility for ensuring the correct accounting treatment for transactions and adherence to FRS102
- Ensuring Revenue/HMRC compliance of transactions to minimise the risk of audits and exposure to fines/penalties
- Active involvement in statutory audit process and effective and proactive liaison with auditors
- Assist in the submission of regulatory reporting including but not limited to VAT returns, CSO returns, Regulatory authority returns, etc.
- Constantly highlighting areas for improvement and leading initiatives to deliver those improvements
- Demonstrate initiative to identify and deliver process improvements both finance and cross functionally; provide training and feedback to business users as to the correct procedures as required
- Adhoc analysis, tasks and project work as directed by Management
- Ability to work well within a team, cooperate with and work effectively with diverse personalities; ability to build relationships and collaborate with others is essential
- Hands on experience of working with organisational ERP system(s) required
- Experience of an ERP system implementation an advantage
- Practical, action-orientated and effective approach to managing priorities and competing requirements of the role
- Experience in managing people, supervising, supporting and reviewing the delivery of business as usual tasks & project work
- A strong working knowledge of best practice processes, change management implementation, coaching and mentoring an advantage
- Demonstrate analytical thinking and a focus on solutions
- Experience of working with and managing big data an advantage
- Demonstrate ability to prioritising key initiatives, project planning, implementation and evaluation of results
- Positive and proactive person who is energised by having great responsibility
- Demonstrate and lead on the values, initiatives, and culture of an organisation
- Organisational skills, personal efficiency, time management skills and effective communication skills
- Relevant 3rd level qualification, preferably at Degree level
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- At least five (5) years + relevant industry experience in a large corporate environment
- Pharmaceutical/manufacturing experience in a multi-currency, multi-company environment would be an advantage
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Strong computer skills in MS Office
