As a key member of the Procurement team, you will advise clients on diverse procurement projects, including construction schemes, transport initiatives, and outsourcing, service, and supply contracts. Your role will span from the early stages of procurement processes to contract management, encompassing potential litigation challenges.The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in advising private and particularly public sector clients on all aspects of public procurement law, including:
- Advising on the applicability of public procurement rules (EU or national guidelines)
- Providing guidance on appropriate procedures, aiding public sector clients in designing a process that meets applicable law
- Drafting and reviewing competition documentation, such as pre-qualification and tender stage documentation
- Advising on permissible award and selection criteria
- Advising during the procurement process, including permissible clarifications, responses to tender queries, and the exercise of discretion
- Advising public sector clients on the standstill process and managing correspondence with declined tenderers
- Assisting private sector clients in cases of unsuccessful procurement competition
- Defending and pursuing legal challenges to public procurement processes
- Qualified as solicitor or barrister in Ireland or England and Wales
- Experience in public procurement
- Strong analytical ability
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Sound judgement and decision-making ability
- Strong attention to detail
