Who We Are:Muiríosa Foundation supports individuals (and their families) with an intellectual disability and/or autism to live self-directed, connected and fulfilling lives. Currently we employ over 1,400 staff and support people in Laois, Offaly, Westmeath, Meath, Longford, Kildare, Tipperary, Kilkenny. We provide supports through the Regional structure and the Person Centred Wing . Each region exercises a high level of devolved autonomy across all major operational functions including residential homes, day supports, respite. The Person Centred Wing offers the opportunity to have someone work with you who comes with an exclusively individualised focus on getting to know you and figuring out what needs to happen so that you get the opportunity to create the life you want for yourself. Refer to the for further information.There are administration centres in each of the regions of the organisation.Description:PERSON CENTRED WINGKILDARE SERVICESSUPPORT WORKERSThe focus of this role will be to support an individual to realise their vision to leading a good life through Person Centred approaches in line with personal interests, skills, will and preference.Permanent Part Time (39 Hours Per Fortnight)We are seeking to recruit motivated, enthusiastic, creative and energetic Support Workers to support individuals with an intellectual disability to realise their vision for a ‘good life’. The focus of the role will be to lead initiatives in supporting the individuals to live a life of their choosing and what matters most to them. The role will support the individuals to become connected and valued within their local community, to provide opportunities for new experiences and to assist each person in developing real and authentic relationships. The ideal candidates will have a proven track record in supporting individuals to develop valued social roles and also have experience in supporting individuals with communication needs and those who may display behaviours of concern and will have experience of person centred planning and knowledge of person directed and individualised support approaches.Informal Enquiries to: Lavinia Donoher 087 177 5804Essential requirements/qualities of applicant are:· FETAC/ QQI Level 5 (Major Award) in Healthcare or equivalent (e.g. Health Service Skills, Healthcare Support) or willingness to undertake a relevant QQI Level 5 Major Award.· Ability to use own initiative and plan effectively.· Experience/knowledge of supporting persons with a range of support needs.· A valid licence to drive a manual vehicle in Ireland.· Excellent communication skills.· Strong initiative and creativity.· Flexibility and willing to undertake roster covering various houses/locations.· Suitability as outlined in the introduction to the role.Please note that the successful candidate will be required to be available for any day and sleepover shifts.
