The ideal candidate is passionate about customer service and making a difference in the local communityThe successful candidate will work with the Charity Shop Manager to ensure the smooth day to day running of the new shop.Main duties and responsibilities
  • Assist in the management and development of the shop in accordance with an agreed workplan and sales targets
  • Assist in training, supervising and managing shop staff, paid and voluntary
  • Ensue the shop is kept clean, safe, secure and tidy and adheres to brand standards
  • Assist in stock merchandising- preparing and pricing for sale and display
  • Lead by example in delivering excellent customer service
  • Cash handling, cash reconciliation, cash security and reporting to the IDS accounts department
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, motivation and staff & volunteer satisfaction
  • Promote IDS Awareness and Education campaigns within the shop
  • Undertake any other duties that may fall under the remit of Charity Shop Supervisor.
Personal Specification (Knowledge, Experience and Skill Set Required)Essential
  • Retail supervision experience and /or charity retail experience
  • Experience handling cash and cash reconciliation
  • Excellent sales techniques and ability to meet sales targets
  • Demonstrate leadership skills and an ability to motivate a diverse team
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Respect for Deaf culture and a willingness to learn Irish Sign Language
Desirable
  • A retail qualification
  • Good general IT skills and proficient in MS Office
  • Visual merchandising experience
