To serve as the strategic leader of our engineering operating system. You will own the health, configuration, and insights derived from the Jira and Jellyfish tools, ensuring our leadership has a crystal-clear view of engineering investment, velocity, and health across the entire organisation.We expect this candidate to be an "AI-First" practitioner, using agentic tooling to automate the mundane and focus on high-leverage organizational improvements.What You Will Do: * Tooling Architecture & Governance
- Jira Cloud Expert: Design, build and maintain complex workflows, permission schemes, and automation rules at scale.
- Jellyfish Orchestration: Map Jira "Signals" to Jellyfish allocation buckets. Ensure the data reflects the true "Investment Distribution" (e.g., separating KTLO/Maintenance from Innovation).
- System Integrity: Standardize issue types and field usage across 20+ squads to ensure Jellyfish insights are statistically valid.
- AI-Augmented Operations
- Natural Language Querying: Use Atlassian Intelligence to translate plain-English requests into complex JQL for instant reporting.
- AI Impact Analysis: Leverage Jellyfish AI Impact to measure how AI coding assistants (Copilot, Cursor) are actually shifting our "Time to Deliver" and code quality.
- Workflow Automation: Integrate AI Agents to handle "ticket hygiene"-automatically flagging stale issues, summarizing long comment threads for stakeholders, and triaging incoming requests.
- Synthetic Insights: Use LLMs (Claude/ChatGPT) to synthesize monthly Jellyfish data into executive-level narratives that explain the "Why" behind the "What."
- Strategic Delivery Insights
- DORA & Flow Metrics: Monitor Cycle Time, Lead Time, and Deployment Frequency to identify systemic bottlenecks. Also identify improvement opportunities.
- Capitalization Reporting: Partner with Finance to use Jellyfish data for R&D tax credit reporting and labor capitalization.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work with stakeholders on triaging and aligning requirements in conjunction with tool administrators for a seamless rollout
- Experience:
- 5+ years in Engineering Operations (EngOps), Program Management, or a similar data-heavy engineering role.
- Tooling Expertise:
- Jira Cloud: Expert-level administration skills.
- Jellyfish: Power user proficiency.
- Analytics & Metrics:
- Deep understanding of Agile metrics and Engineering Investment categories.
- Strong knowledge of DORA metrics (Deployment Frequency, Lead Time for Changes, Change Failure Rate, and Time to Restore Service).
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Jira Automation and JQL.
- Foundational knowledge of the SDLC process, Scrum, and SAFe methodologies.
- AI Proficiency:
- Comfortable leveraging AI agents and LLMs for data analysis and scripting tasks.
- Programming & Integration: Ability to write basic Python or JavaScript for API integrations.
- Cloud & Version Control: Experience with GitHub and AWS is considered a significant bonus.
- Sales Roles: This position is eligible for a commission structure in addition to base salary.
- Non-Sales Roles: This position is eligible for an annual bonus which is paid dependent on various factors, including and without limitation, individual and company performance in addition to base salary.
