Financial Lines Manager (Professional Indemnity) - WholesaleLocation: Ireland (Hybrid - 2-3 days office: Mon, Tues & Fri)Salary: €70,000 - €80,000 + 10% BonusReporting to: Wholesale Managing Director / Head of WholesaleRole OverviewThe Financial Lines Manager - Professional Indemnity is a senior, hands-on leadership role responsible for building, stabilising, and scaling a high-performing financial lines portfolio.This is a player-manager position, combining day-to-day trading, underwriting leadership, and team development. The successful individual will take ownership of a new Delegated Underwriting Authority (DUA) focused initially on construction-related PI risks (Design & Construct, Architects, Engineers, Surveyors), with a clear mandate to grow and expand the portfolio.You will play a critical role in delivering early wins, building insurer confidence, and creating momentum for long-term scalable growth.Key Priorities - First 6 Months1. Stabilise & Scale the DUA
  • Fully operationalise the PI DUA (governance, underwriting appetite, pricing, turnaround times)
  • Establish strong underwriting discipline and decision-making frameworks from day one
  • Deliver credible early volume within core construction segments
  • Build insurer confidence and position the DUA for future expansion
2. Drive Hands-On Trading & Revenue Momentum
  • Lead from the front on quoting, negotiation, and complex placements
  • Set the standard for trading excellence across the team
  • Achieve visible early wins across both new business and renewals
  • Accelerate pipeline conversion and build a sustainable revenue base
3. Build a High-Performing, Scalable Team
  • Structure and galvanise a team of 6 across new business and renewals
  • Define clear roles, KPIs, referral thresholds, and trading cadence
  • Develop technical capability to support scale without compromising quality
  • Create a high-performance, accountable, and collaborative culture
Key ResponsibilitiesPortfolio Growth & Strategy
  • Own and grow the Financial Lines portfolio, with a core focus on Professional Indemnity
  • Deliver consistent new business and renewal growth aligned to targets
  • Execute a clear and progressive growth strategy
  • Expand into new sectors as the DUA evolves
DUA Ownership
  • Lead and manage the delegated underwriting authority
  • Ensure strong governance, compliance, and underwriting standards
  • Monitor performance, pricing, and loss trends
  • Work closely with insurer partners to support ongoing capacity and expansion
Trading & Market Leadership
  • Actively quote, negotiate, and place risks daily
  • Lead on complex or high-value cases
  • Build and maintain strong insurer and London Market relationships
  • Attend insurer meetings and industry events (including travel to London where required)
Team Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 6
  • Drive performance through clear expectations and accountability
  • Act as a key referral point for underwriting and commercial decisions
  • Foster a culture of ownership, pace, and continuous improvement
Broker & Market Engagement
  • Strengthen relationships with broker partners
  • Position the business as a specialist PI and Financial Lines provider
  • Share market insights, trends, and appetite changes internally
Governance & Operations
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards
  • Maintain strong underwriting and operational discipline
  • Support scalable processes and continuous improvement initiatives
About YouExperience
  • 8-10+ years' experience in Professional Indemnity (broking, underwriting, or hybrid)
  • Strong track record of growing a financial lines or PI book
  • Experience with Delegated Underwriting Authorities (desirable)
  • Exposure to construction PI risks highly advantageous
  • London Market experience beneficial

Qualifications
  • CIP (minimum), with progress toward ACII / MDI desirable
