- Developing and reviewing risk assessments.
- Updating and reviewing polices/Safety Statement and develop system to meet ISO 45001 standard.
- Provide training (Fire Safety, Fire Warden, Manual Handling, Chemical Safety, Infection Control) and manage documentation.
- Carry out H&S induction for new starters.
- Emergency response for site- carry out drills and update Emergency Response Plans where necessary.
- Chemical management (Chemical inventory for teams, SDS, training).
- Carry out monthly site inspections and developing H&S Inspection Reports.
- Overseeing Contractor Management System. Reviewing contractor documentation, approving permits and supervising contractors.
- Carrying out H&S Audits based on compliance and safety culture. Develop audit reports.
- Managing and responding to Safety Observation Reporting system and closing out Safety Observations.
- Tracking Accident Reports and carrying out Accident Investigation. Reporting accidents to the HAS/HSE where required.
- Carry out DSE Assessments and review Working from Home assessments.
- Carry out Pregnancy/vulnerable risk assessments.
- Dosimetry program – reviewing radiation exposure and investigating incidents with the RPO.
- Organise Safety training (MEWP, Forklift, working at heights etc) with external training provider.
- Advise and assist management with Health and Safety related matters.
- Travel between the different sites will be required, so a full driving license and access to a car is required.
- Develop, promote and drive the maintenance of a strong, pro-active health & safety culture.
- Carrying out Environmental audits.
- Environmental Working Groups.
- Managing Environmental Targets and Objectives for the group.
- Review and update Environmental Management System Manual in accordance with ISO 14001 standard.
- Carry out tracking and trending of carbon emissions for the group.
- Experience of environmental, health and safety management in a similar environment
- Excellent verbal, written communication, IT and presentation skills.
- High level of computer literacy is essential – MS Office applications.
- Professional approach coupled with strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills.
- Effective handling of Health and Safety investigations.
- Adopt a Proactive approach to project requirements.
- Experience of formulating, implementing, and revising Health and Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
- Ability to prioritise and manage own workload.
- Ability to work on own initiative with the minimum of supervision.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team.
