- To lead on and contribute to key national and internationally funded research projects in industrial water and climate technologies.
- To identify key and innovative research themes relating to the Research & Communities Unit's core strategic interests.
- To represent the organisation in our national and international working groups and networks.
- Conduct horizon scanning on research opportunities and engagement opportunities with existing and emerging research consortiums.
- Actively develop appropriate external contacts and networks relevant to future collaboration and funding opportunities including with academic institutions and research bodies.
- To produce high-quality research reports and/or publications as required by the funding body.
- To lead out on research dissemination activities as identified.
- Support in development of robust systems, processes, and tools for Research management.
- To independently undertake advanced research in the relevant discipline area using, or developing, the appropriate methods and/or techniques and managing other contributions to the project.
- To supervise the work of colleagues, partners, consultants, and other collaborators as appropriate.
- To lead relevant meetings associated with the research project or related activities.
- To take responsibility for resolving problems affecting the delivery of research projects.
- To support the planning and implementing of future research projects.
- To lead and / or support bids for major research projects.
- To undertake other duties relevant to the programme of research as required.
- Ability to analyse performance, think critically and improve upon previous outcomes.

- A Master's degree / PhD in industrial water, energy / emissions or related engineering field
- >7 years' experience working in industry
- >3 years' experience in a research environment
- Experience in leading teams in technical project delivery
- Horizon Europe project experience desirable
