Salary € 60,000-80,000The RoleAccounts Payable ManagerParkwest, Dublin 12PermanentSalary: €60,000 - €65,000Office Based Initially - Hybrid working after probationMy client is seeking to appoint an experienced Accounts Payable Manager on a permanent basis.Along with strong people management skills, candidates will need to have a minimum of 5 years' relevant experience.Experience using Business Central would be a distinct advantageCandidates will need to have strong Excel skills.Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the full AP cycle, from invoice receipt to payment.
  • Ensure timely and accurate invoice processing.
  • Reconciling accounts to supplier statements on a regular basis to ensure accounts are kept up to date.
  • Monitor outstanding payables and manage cash flow accordingly.
  • Support the month-end close process, ensuring accurate recording of AP transactions, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Resolve discrepancies or issues related to invoices, payments, or vendor terms.
Internal controls:
  • Ensure internal controls are sufficient to prevent against fraud and error.
  • Continuously assess existing processes to identify control gaps, compliance risks, and improvement opportunities.
System and process improvement:
  • Implement and enhance AP processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Utilise accounting software and ERP systems to support automation.
  • Maintain compliance with internal controls, policies, and external regulations, including documentation of procedures.
Team leadership and development:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the AP team.
  • Set clear objectives and KPIs of the AP team.
  • Take corrective action if objectives or KPIs are not being met.
  • Train new staff and provide ongoing support to existing team members.
The PersonKey Skills:
  • 5-7 years' experience in accounts payable or accounting roles, including at least 5 years in a management capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience transforming and improving AP functions.
  • Good organisation, someone self-motivated with excellent time management skills.
  • Good communication skills and ability to liaise with colleagues at all levels.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management abilities.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central advantageous.
