Job DescriptionThe Electrical Field Service Engineer will take responsibility for the electrical installation and maintenance of our EV Charge Points, this position will cover projects across Ireland.You will be a competent electrician who has a strong understanding of electrical systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.Job RequirementsEssential:
  • A FETAC / Level 6 qualification in electrical installation, or a recognised equivalent, or other recognised qualifications such as those from City & Guilds, or an equivalent European standard.
  • Electricians must have practical experience in electrical work and be familiar with Irish regulations, particularly the National Rules for Electrical Installations (I.S. 10101).
  • Irish SafePass or equivalent
  • Proven experience in electrical installations, ideally within EV charging systems or renewable energy sectors
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical and software-based systems
  • Full, clean driving license (B Category)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach to work
Desirable:
  • Experience with DC chargers ranging from 50kW upwards of 400kW DC
  • QQI Level 6 Electrical Testing & Verification
  • Safe Electric – Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Course
Job Responsibilities
  • Install electric vehicle charging stations.
  • Follow work instructions, electrical designs, cable calculations and installation guides to carry out the proper installation of EV chargers from various charger manufacturers.
  • Liaise with the Supervisor and provide updates relevant to the EV charge point installations on their projects.
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure safe working conditions.
  • Work to site specific Programmes of Work.
  • Complete Electrical Installation Certificates on a tablet device.
  • Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Prepare and submit reports on work performed, including any issues encountered and resolutions implemented.
  • Work closely with project managers, electricians, and other team members to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Participate in training sessions and team meetings to stay informed and share best practice.
  • Assist and support maintenance contracts by performing routine and preventive maintenance on EV charging stations to ensure optimal performance and uptime
