Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking an Associate Director to join a well-established bridges and transportation infrastructure consultancy in Dublin. This role will focus on the delivery of major bridge design, inspection, rehabilitation, and transportation projects across Ireland and the UK.With a strong secured workload and a robust pipeline, this position offers a defined route to Director level, supported by a collaborative and highly experienced senior management team. Senior Bridge Engineers with the right mix of leadership and technical delivery experience will also be considered.This is a hybrid role with flexible work-from-home arrangements and significant long-term career development opportunities.Salary & Benefits

- Lead and manage a team of bridge engineering professionals in Dublin
- Deliver technical oversight on structural aspects of bridges and civils projects
- Manage medium to large-scale projects to meet quality, programme, and budget targets
- Support business development and tender submissions for consultancy services
- Undertake short, medium, and long-term resource planning
- Act as primary client liaison and manage stakeholder relationships
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior team members
- Assist with PSDP duties where required
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, Eurocodes, and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams across Ireland and the UK
- Level 8 Honours Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 10+ years’ experience in bridge/civil engineering (ideally with Irish Experience)
- Chartered Engineer (CEng, MIStructE, or equivalent)
- Demonstrated leadership and project management experience in bridges/transportation
- Proven track record in bridge design, inspection, assessment, and rehabilitation
- Proficiency in Eurocodes and structural analysis tools such as MIDAS Civil or LUSAS
- Experience in the design and refurbishment of concrete, steel, and masonry structures
- Excellent client-facing and stakeholder communication skills
- Irish or UK experience highly advantageous
