JOB TITLE: SHEQ Manager Ireland
DEPARTMENT: SHEQ
REPORTING TO: SHEQ DirectorJOB SUMMARY:The SHEQ Manager ROI, is pivotal in ensuring that Obelisk leads the way in Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality processes. With SHEQ as one of the main pillars of our business this role will help to ensure we exceed the requirements within the SHEQ jurisdiction. This position is based in the Ireland and will be the day-to-day interface for SHEQ, in IrelandKEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • To support the SHEQ team in achieving the highest possible Health and Safety standards.
  • Manage the SHEQ team within Ireland.
  • Attend management meetings to report on SHEQ performance and seek improvement opportunities.
  • Be the lead contact point on SHEQ related matters.
  • Ensure that SHEQ KPI's are monitored, compliant, and where necessary under performance is addressed with relevant line & senior managers
  • Review weekly SHEQ report, ensuring they are circulated
  • Ensure that the Site Inspection & Good Catch Trackers are updated weekly
  • Complete and submit client monthly reports within the timescale required
  • Prepare, submit, and present the SHEQ slide deck at monthly contract review meetings
  • Ensure the weekly performance log is completed, and the action log is updated each Thursday,
  • Attend weekly SHEQ 1-2-1 meetings with the SHEQ Director as required
  • Advise the project teams on all matters of Health, Safety and Environmental in accordance with the company's safety management systems and legislation
  • Complete weekly on-site inspections of our activities, including joint inspections with client and Obelisk representatives.
  • Undertake reviews with the site management team on all high-risk activities.
  • Development of risk assessments, method statements, Preliminary Construction Information, and Construction Phase Plans. Reviewing of these on at least an annual basis.
  • Ensure on-site crew folders are developed and issued to our Contracting Partners
  • that the Site Inspection & Good Catch Trackers are updated weekly
  • Complete and submit client monthly reports within the timescale required

  • Development and maintenance of all Safety Files for each project in readiness for handover to the Principal Designer / Client
  • To assist in the implementation of H&S training across all projects
  • Take the lead in accident / incident investigations to establish root cause and lessons learnt and ensure reports are reviewed with the SHEQ Director for submission to the client, within the required timescales.
  • Encourage Good Catch reporting and implement improvements to achieve KPI requirements.
  • Liaise with clients or client representatives as required and ensure a good working partnership to achieve the best practices in Health, Safety and Environmental aspects.
  • Attend client Meetings as required or requested by Obelisk SHEQ Director
  • Support in the maintenance of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 certifications.
  • This list is not exhaustive and other duties may be assigned as and when required
Skills & Experience Required:
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in a SHEQ role
  • Hold a current recognised professional Safety qualification
  • Be persuasive, presentable and confident with a proactive approach.
  • Be impartial during inspection and investigation activities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and on own initiative.
  • Ability to be a pro-active Team Player
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Good level of civils and Fibre infrastructure installations, Traffic Management application and implementation
  • Good level of knowledge and working with Microsoft Office 365 suite of applications.
  • Qualified to provide Manual Handling an advantage.
  • Hold a Full, Clean driving license
