Our client, a global leader in advanced Medical Device manufacturing, is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations at their high-volume production facility in Waterford. This is a permanent position operating on a 4-cycle shift pattern, offering a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of safe, reliable, and high-performing production systems.
As Maintenance Manager, you will lead a skilled team of technicians, oversee all preventative and reactive maintenance activities, and drive continuous improvement in equipment reliability and output. This is a pivotal leadership role with significant influence on plant performance, safety, and technical excellence.Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day execution of maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting activities across automated production lines.
- Develop and implement predictive and preventative maintenance strategies (CBM and planned maintenance).
- Drive improvements in maintenance effectiveness, with a focus on reducing downtime and increasing OEE.
- Lead daily meetings, prioritising resources to maximise equipment availability while maintaining safety and quality compliance.
- Supervise and develop maintenance technicians, creating training plans and setting performance goals.
- Monitor, report on, and implement improvements to address OEE detractors in collaboration with Engineering.
- Oversee spare parts inventory and procurement in collaboration with Procurement and Logistics.
- Ensure that all work is completed in compliance with health and safety, environmental, and quality system requirements.
- Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new maintenance team members.
- Contribute to CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) investigations related to safety and quality.
- Support Engineering in the development and execution of predictive maintenance tools and systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a relevant technical discipline.
- 5+ years' experience in a high-volume, highly automated manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or maintenance management role.
- Strong technical background in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance within regulated industries (e.g. medical device or pharmaceutical) is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with both preventative and reactive maintenance strategies.
- Proven leadership and team development skills.
- Excellent communication abilities, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and right-first-time execution.
- Experience working within GMP or FDA-regulated environments is a distinct advantage.
