Data Protection Executive - 12 Month FTCJob title: Data Protection Executive - 12 Months FTCLocation: Isle of ManOverview of the role:This role follows a hybrid approach to working, allowing you to combine working from home with working in our modern offices. These discussions are between you and your manager to find the best pattern for you both, while recognising that quality time together is essential for keeping us mission-alignedOur Isle of Man office sits just outside of the city of Douglas, overlooking King Edward Bay. There is an onsite cafeteria, free gym facilities and games area where people can enjoy a game of pool, ping pong or the occasional yoga class.What you’ll do:Reporting to the Head of Data Protection, the Data Protection Executive is responsible for ensuring appropriate processes, systems and structures are in place to handle compliance with the Group’s data protection obligations. The role has responsibility for supporting the delivery of end to end processes, monitoring compliance, reporting compliance key controls and for instilling a strong data protection culture within the Group. The role will also support the Head of Data Protection in handling data protection related requests or projects as they arise.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintaining procedures and SLAs for managing data access requests, right to be forgotten requests and recording all relevant information on the internal databaseLiaising with other departments to collect all data necessary to meet SLAs.Continuously reviewing subject rights requests procedures to ensure adherence to all requirements and to drive continuous improvement in existing processes.Completing GDPR compliance work including Data Protection compliance activities,Writing briefs on above topic areas.Contributing to internal Data Protection projects.Work closely with other partners within the business units, including IT, Online, Retails and Operations to improve internal controls around data protectionContinuous monitoring of external and internal business environment.What you’ll bring:The successful candidate will have a strong interest and desire to qualify in Data Protection, GDPR, ePrivacy and other privacy regulatory frameworks. The individual will be capable of working on their own initiative and delivering results. They will have collaboration skills working with and through colleagues and peers. The role will require working cross functionally and cross jurisdictionally.Key Skills & ExperienceAbility to demonstrate technical knowledge and competence in data protection.Exceptional attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.Strong communication skills, both verbal and writtenAssertive and confident, able to operate credibly with senior partners.Essential:Desire to professionally qualify (if not already qualified) through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) in Data Protection Law (CIPT).Strong process, technical and analytical skills, combined with strong commercial competenceA keen problem solver with the ability to set objectives and prioritiesStrong presentation and communication skills: the ability to accurately identify key issues and communicate them broadlyHigh energy and drive, and flexible enough to work in an entrepreneurial, dynamic and changing environment and the resilience to challenge/be challengedIt’s ok if you don’t think you tick every box on this list.
