- Assist in the design and specification of building services systems (HVAC, public health, electrical, lighting, fire protection as applicable).
- Produce calculations, technical reports, drawings, and specifications.
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines.
- Attend design meetings and contribute technical input.
- Support project delivery from concept through to construction stage.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and surveys as required.
- Review contractor submissions and technical documentation.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant regulations, codes, and sustainability standards.
- Assist in mentoring junior engineers or graduates where appropriate.
- Bachelor’s degree in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a building services consultancy or contractor environment.
- Experience working on commercial, residential, healthcare, education, or mixed-use projects.
- Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP, IES, Hevacomp, Dialux, or similar).
- Good understanding of Irish building regulations and industry standards.
- Working towards professional accreditation (e.g., CEng, IEng or equivalent) is desirable.
- HVAC load calculations and system selection (mechanical bias if applicable).
- Electrical load calculations and distribution design (electrical bias if applicable).
- Knowledge of sustainable design principles and energy-efficient systems.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Basic project coordination and programme awareness.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage time and prioritise workload effectively.
- Proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
- Attention to detail and quality-focused approach.
- Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
- Structured mentoring toward chartership.
- Exposure to a wide range of projects and sectors.
