
Senior Mechanical Estimator

- Conduct in-depth reviews of tender documentation including drawings, specifications, and schedules.
- Perform accurate quantity take-offs and populate pricing documents accordingly.
- Obtain and assess competitive quotations from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with specifications and full scope coverage, with no omissions or gaps.
- Present completed estimates to the Pre-Construction Director and Board of Directors for review and approval.
- Oversee tender document control, including the analysis of drawings and specifications for inclusion in BOQs.
- Mentor and support the development of junior members within the mechanical estimation team.
- Collaborate closely with the Electrical Estimators to ensure coordinated and accurate tenders.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of internal estimating procedures, ensuring high standards of quality control across all documentation.
- Independently manage and complete large-scale, tenders from initiation through to submission.
- Identify and highlight tender risks and opportunities to the Estimating Manager at an early stage.
- 3-4 years experience in mechanical cost estimating within a contracting environment, including end-to-end tender delivery from initial enquiry to award stage.
- Solid understanding of mechanical and process pipework systems, HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical building services.
- Familiarity with a range of mechanical and process pipework materials.
- Proficient in interpreting drawings and specifications, performing accurate take-offs, and preparing detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
- Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent attention to detail, with strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage workload independently, meet tight deadlines, and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication, time management, and organisational skills.
