With a network of offices in Europe, Asia and the US and a multi-disciplined team of over 3,800 people, we deliver complex, capital projects in the life sciences, food and beverages, mission critical/ICT, advanced manufacturing, energy and environmental sectors.We are currently expanding our Instrumentation capability in Cork and are looking for a Lead Instrumentation Engineer to join our team of near 100 E&I professionals to help us lead the way on some of the largest Phama/Bio projects in the world.This is a hybrid role, connected to the Cork office (in either our Mahon or Fota offices):
  • Integrate as part of a large instrumentation Team on various projects as part of a multidiscipline project team
  • Analyze complex engineering problems and offer effective solutions
  • Provide support to fee and capital budget proposals as required
  • Assemble and manage bid, approval, and construction issue Instrumentation packages in an efficient and lean manner
  • Mentor Instrumentation engineering staff at junior and intermediate levels, if required
  • Check other Instrumentation engineers work for accuracy and quality and undertake peer reviews
  • Requires extensive and independent contact with clients, vendor’s representatives and project field personnel
  • Attend and participate in client and PM Group meetings
  • Direct and/or participate in project site visits to monitor, review and sign-off Instrument installations
:
  • Third Level Degree in Instrumentation Engineering or similar discipline
  • 10+ years of formal experience in heavy industrial engineering design
  • Demonstrable advanced experience in the complete suite of Instrumentation engineering design services. This includes (but is not limited to) Instrument Index, I/O Lists/ Allocation, Instrument Specs/ Data Sheets, Layouts, Cable Containment, Block Diagrams, System Architecture, Atex/ Hazardous Areas, Clean Room Applications
  • Proficient in the use of Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI) & digital project delivery
  • Advanced knowledge of all applicable Instrumentation engineering codes, standards and acceptable industry practices
  • Commercially aware and have ability to undertake value engineering activities and implement new technologies where they are implemented to provide costs effective solutions for our clients
  • Commercially aware on project execution, control of budgets, resourcing and change control
  • Multiple office execution experience advantageous
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required with the ability to prepare written specifications and contract documents
  • Professional approach and demeanour. A strong ethical approach to safety, quality, environmental protection and business
