
Lead Instrumentation Engineer

- Integrate as part of a large instrumentation Team on various projects as part of a multidiscipline project team
- Analyze complex engineering problems and offer effective solutions
- Provide support to fee and capital budget proposals as required
- Assemble and manage bid, approval, and construction issue Instrumentation packages in an efficient and lean manner
- Mentor Instrumentation engineering staff at junior and intermediate levels, if required
- Check other Instrumentation engineers work for accuracy and quality and undertake peer reviews
- Requires extensive and independent contact with clients, vendor’s representatives and project field personnel
- Attend and participate in client and PM Group meetings
- Direct and/or participate in project site visits to monitor, review and sign-off Instrument installations
- Third Level Degree in Instrumentation Engineering or similar discipline
- 10+ years of formal experience in heavy industrial engineering design
- Demonstrable advanced experience in the complete suite of Instrumentation engineering design services. This includes (but is not limited to) Instrument Index, I/O Lists/ Allocation, Instrument Specs/ Data Sheets, Layouts, Cable Containment, Block Diagrams, System Architecture, Atex/ Hazardous Areas, Clean Room Applications
- Proficient in the use of Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI) & digital project delivery
- Advanced knowledge of all applicable Instrumentation engineering codes, standards and acceptable industry practices
- Commercially aware and have ability to undertake value engineering activities and implement new technologies where they are implemented to provide costs effective solutions for our clients
- Commercially aware on project execution, control of budgets, resourcing and change control
- Multiple office execution experience advantageous
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required with the ability to prepare written specifications and contract documents
