Salary € 40,000-60,000, 60,000-80,000The RoleFinancial Accountant (Maternity Leave cover) 12 months durationLocation CARLOWOur client has an exciting vacancy for a Financial Accountant to join their busy and growing Finance team for a twelve (12) month maternity cover contract commencing in September 2025.This role reports to the Finance Director and is part of a wider finance team.Key Responsibilities:
Heavy involvement with the month-end process, in particular:
Accurately calculating the appropriate costs to assign to projects in the month including close coordination with colleagues from other business functions.
Performing monthly stock reconciliations from system stock quantities to physical quantities counted as part of monthly cycle counts and investigating differences outside of tolerance where they arise.
Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
Involvement in board pack preparation and other monthly reporting.
Preparation of weekly payroll file for submission to our third-party payroll provider.
Preparation of billing documents for our clients including close cooperation with our Commercial team to ensure billing values and the detail provided on the invoice reflect work performed.
Act as a key liaison with the company's auditors and other third-party business contacts for quarterly audit of the Invoice Discounting facility.
Involvement in system enhancement projects as they arise.The PersonThe Ideal Candidate:
Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar)
A minimum of three years industry experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, or qualified through accounting practice.
Knowledge and prior experience working with Finance ERP systems.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, in particular, Excel capabilities.
Inquisitive mindset and will to learn.
Ability to work in a team.
