- Programme & Delivery Leadership: Provide strong delivery leadership across Networks Telecoms, with accountability for the effective planning, coordination and delivery of complex programmes and projects, ensuring commitments are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards.
- Delivery Planning, Scheduling & Forecasting: Lead the development and maintenance of robust delivery plans, schedules and forecasts, ensuring alignment with approved business priorities, funding profiles, regulatory allowances and overall Networks Telecoms delivery commitments.
- Programme & Project Governance: Establish and operate effective programme and project governance arrangements, ensuring delivery activities comply with ESB Networks project management, assurance and reporting frameworks, and that risks, issues and dependencies are actively managed and escalated as required.
- Cost, Scope & Change Control: Provide leadership and oversight of cost, scope and change management processes, ensuring approved changes are robustly assessed, appropriately governed and aligned with business, regulatory and financial controls.
- Supplier, Contractor & Partner Management: Lead the management of delivery partners, suppliers and contractors, ensuring clear accountabilities, strong performance management, safe working practices and value for money in line with ESB Networks procurement and contract governance requirements.
- Business Case Development & Delivery: Lead the development and delivery of investment proposals and business cases, ensuring delivery strategies, schedules, costs, risks and benefits are clearly defined, achievable and aligned with strategic, regulatory and operational objectives.
- Performance Reporting & Assurance: Ensure high quality delivery performance reporting is in place, providing transparent, timely and accurate insights to senior management and governance forums, and supporting effective decision-making across the delivery portfolio
- Continuous Improvement & Delivery Capability: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance delivery performance, capability and maturity, embedding lessons learned, best practice methodologies and a strong focus on efficiency, resilience and value delivery across Networks Telecoms.
- People Leadership & Team Development: Lead, mentor and develop delivery teams, providing clear direction, coaching and performance management, while building a high performing, engaged and accountable delivery organisation aligned with Networks Telecoms strategy and ESB Networks values.
- Senior Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a trusted delivery leader and advisor to the Networks Telecoms leadership team and senior stakeholders across ESB Networks, building strong relationships, managing expectations and enabling informed, evidence-based decisions on delivery priorities.
- Third level engineering related qualification or 7-10 years work experience.
- A full clean driving license

- Initiative: Self-motivated with excellent planning and time management skills and strong attention to detail.

- Strategic Thinking: A strategic thinker and problem solver with the ability to manage multiple activities and initiatives in the context of the “bigger picture”.
- Decision Making: Strong analytical skills with ability to use data driven insight and / or industry analysis to support strategic decision making.
- Change Driver: An inquisitive mind and willingness to challenge conventional models.
- Risk Management: Experience in risk management; the identification, assessment, mitigation, tracking, control and management of project risks.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of fibre optic technology.
- Documentation Skills: Experience with writing board-level documentation.
