- Conducting comprehensive health assessments and developing individualized care plans.
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Providing support with activities of daily living, including personal care and hygiene.
- Monitoring and managing the physical and mental health needs of individuals with intellectual disabilities.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, therapists, and social workers, to ensure coordinated care.
- Advocating for the rights and needs of individuals with intellectual disabilities.
- Providing education and training to individuals, families, and caregivers on health management and wellness strategies.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation.
- Registered Nurse qualification and current registration with NMBI
- Specialized training or experience in intellectual disability nursing is preferred.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
- Strong assessment and clinical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
