Job DescriptionSenior Mechanical Engineer (Dublin 15) Our client is an innovative and progressive mechanical and electrical engineering consultancy with a reputation for designing high-quality, energy efficient and low carbon buildings projects for both the Public and Private sector, projects include Educational, Government buildings including museums, Commercial Mixed use , Hotel & Leisure and Residential.As a valued Senior Mechanical Building Services Engineer, you will join a great team and to engage with project design teams in developing exciting and innovative energy efficient buildings for the future. This is an opportunity to work closely with stakeholders and design teams to provide bespoke designs to suit both building and users.The successful candidate must thrive working in a fast-paced environment and be able to work to tight deadlines.Suitable applicants will be required to have:
  • Level 8 Degree in Mechanical / Building Services Engineering plus a minimum of 6+ years consultancy experience.
  • Experience in contributing to multiple projects and balancing workload.
  • Ability to manage and lead projects from inception to completion.
  • Excellent level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Have a good knowledge of the legislative and technical issues relating to the sustainable development of the built environment.
  • Ambitious looking to grow and progress your career and keen on learning and developing and keen on new challenges.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Chartership is a distinct advantage.
  • Competent in AutoCAD and MS Office Suite
  • BIM and Revit experience is also a considerable advantage.
Main Duties of the role:
  • Overall project management.
  • Detailed design of electrical building services.
  • Preparation of technical specifications and tender documentation.
  • Invitation, analysis, and reporting on tenders.
  • Participating at design team meetings.
  • Carrying out site inspections and reporting on the progress and quality of the works.
  • Liaising with clients, design teams and contractors during the course of projects.
  • Project cost control.
  • Certification of contractor's payment claims.
  • Surveying existing installations and preparing technical reports for litigation
  • Witnessing tests.
  • Mentoring and managing junior engineers and design technicians.
