
Head of Visual Merchandising

- Optimise the positioning of all stock ensuring that stock positioning is weighted with store tier status, sales history and demand in mind.
- Lead and manage the visual merchandising team, including in-store visual merchandisers and regional VM leads.
- Collaborating with Stock Control, Purchasing, Retail Operations, Marketing, Web ecommerce team and logistics to ensure operational support for Visual Merchandising initiatives.
- Maintain strong store manager relationships - maintain excellent relationships with our store managers, keeping them informed and share as much information as possible to enable our sales team to maximise sales. Use their feedback to optimize layouts and displays.
- Collaborate with the marketing team on window displays, in-store graphics, and promotional campaigns.
- Oversee the design and execution of floor plans, product zoning, and layout strategies
- Lead the visual merchandising for new store openings, refurbishments, and seasonal changeovers.
- Monitor the impact of visual merchandising initiatives on sales performance and customer engagement.
- Report regional sales differences and understand slow moving stock and why it is slow moving, deliver solutions for this and understand and manage regional differences. Deliver strategic contingencies for such situations.
- Conduct regular competitor analysis to monitor trends, identify opportunities, and benchmark visual merchandising standards across the home and furniture retail sector.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in visual merchandising within the furniture or home retail industry, with at least 3 years in a similar senior role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects across different locations.
- Creative flair with commercial awareness and an eye for detail.
- Ability to travel between stores and work flexibly when required.
- Degree or diploma in Visual Merchandising, Interior Design, Retail Design, or related field.
- Experience in both physical retail and showroom environments, as well as integration with digital/online experiences.
- Understanding of sustainable visual merchandising practices.
