- Assist with the preparation and cooking of menu items under the direction of the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef.
- Execute mise en place to the required standards, ensuring readiness for each service.
- Support various kitchen sections, gaining exposure across hot, cold, pastry, and sauce areas.
- Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.
- Ensure all ingredients and equipment are prepared, stored, and handled safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to cleaning schedules and maintain workstations to the highest hygiene standards.
- Assist in stock rotation, labelling, and waste management to support cost-control objectives.
- Comply with kitchen procedures, recipes, and plating specifications.
- Take an active role in ongoing culinary training, learning new techniques and developing skills across kitchen disciplines.
- Seek feedback and coaching from senior chefs to enhance performance and knowledge.
- Contribute positively to team meetings, briefings, and service preparation.
- Adhere to all HACCP, food safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Maintain proper uniform standards and personal presentation.
- Report any maintenance or safety concerns promptly to supervising chefs.
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen or relevant culinary training desirable but not essential.
- Passion for food preparation and a desire to learn within a luxury hospitality environment.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to follow direction.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Knowledge of basic food safety and hygiene practices (training provided).
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.
