- Provide technical leadership across complex manufacturing processes, delivering innovative solutions that enhance product quality and operational performance.
- Build deep technical knowledge of best practices within the medical device industry, leveraging internal expertise and external networks including academic, divisional, and supplier partnerships.
- Drive a culture of high engagement and continuous development by mentoring and supporting a team of engineers through structured technical guidance.
- Lead root cause analysis and the development of robust solutions to technical challenges across automated and manual processes.
- Own system-level design strategy and oversee the design, development, testing, and refinement of manufacturing systems, sub-systems, and components.
- Identify and implement process improvements and procedural changes to support operational excellence and compliance.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor, providing direction and mentorship to engineering teams while collaborating cross-functionally to support business goals.
- Level 8 Honours Degree in an Engineering discipline.
- 6 plus years manufacturing experience with increasing levels of responsibility
- Advanced qualifications highly desirable (Master’s, PhD, or Six Sigma Black Belt).
- Proven experience in thermal spray coatings, deposition technologies, or materials science is a distinct advantage.
- Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional engineering teams within high-tech or regulated manufacturing environments.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, results-driven setting.
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to engage with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
- A proactive mindset with a focus on innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.
