Job purposeThe roadside technician is responsible for the safe repair or recovery of vehicles after roadside breakdown.Dimensions and operating environmentYou will not be directly responsible for any staff, but at the scene of a breakdown you will be expected to manage the situation continually carrying out risk assessments to ensure the safety of the customer and yourself.Responsibilities§ To achieve the required number of monthly average jobs per day§ To work within the guidelines of the Irish Patrols policies and procedures e.g. Drivers Manual, Road Safety Policy and Arrangements.§ To meet all legislative requirements as necessary e.g. PAS 43, Health and Safety at Work Act.§ To adhere to the policies and procedures as set by AXA Assistance.§ To consistently deliver exceptional customer service as measured by our customer satisfaction questionnaire.§ To ensure that any problems are passed through the correct reporting line§ To maintain effective communication at all levels at all times and to work with other members of the team to achieve the best possible results on a daily basis§ You will be responsible for ensuring that your vehicle is clean and tidy and exceeds the Company’s expectations, so that the Company’s image is maintained at the roadsideYou are required to adhere at all times to all and any regulatory requirements that apply to AXA Assistance.In the course of your duties, you are required to always consider the needs of the customer and how best you can serve them, for example always having regard to our requirements to treat our customers fairly.Key interfaces§ Roadside Technicians: - responsible for carrying out the various jobs passed to them on a daily basis.§ Patrol Service Co-ordinator: - responsible for the deployment of work to our recovery fleet.§ Lead Patrol: - responsible for carrying out the roadside assessments for our technicians and vehicles§ Network Administrator: -responsible for the day to day administration of the Roadside Technicians§ Head of Network Services: - responsible for the administration of the department.§ H.R.: - responsible for the H.R. function of the Company.Qualifications§ Must be a qualified motor vehicle technician. NVQ level 3 in vehicle repair, City and Guilds 1,2 and 3 in vehicle craft studies (or equivalent)§ Current IRL driving licence (maximum 2 points)§ Must be able to use logical/lateral thinking to solve problems and make decisions.§ Capacity to take responsibility for own actions and demonstrate a non-judgemental approach towards others.§ Capacity to function under pressure and demonstrate initiative, flexibility and resilience to adapt to rapidly changing circumstances.§ Knowledge of the recovery Industry.§ Heavy goods driving license.§ Good geographical knowledge, particularly in Dublin.
