- Own and deliver sales, margin and commercial targets for the branch.
- Develop market share in Meath and surrounding area - win new business and grow existing customers, prioritising prospects with the highest potential.
- Identify new market opportunities and product propositions; work with Purchasing and Marketing to promote key products.
- Prepare sales and margin forecasts and contribute to branch-level commercial planning.
- Monitor KPIs and performance; run monthly sales reviews and implement corrective actions where required.
- Key Account Management
- Build and maintain relationships with key customers and decision-makers across the territory, with a clear plan to meet the accounts regularly.
- Lead negotiations on pricing and commercial terms while protecting margin and company policies.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by resolving issues promptly and anticipating customer needs.
- Support Branch Manager to develop the branch sales team.
- Support with coaching of staff on selling techniques, margin awareness and product knowledge.
- Support with recruitment and onboard new sales colleagues as required
- Assistant Branch Manager Duties / Operations
- Support the Branch Manager with daily branch operations across Sales, Warehousing and Accounts.
- Lead by example on the counter during busy periods; ensure adequate colleague coverage to minimise waiting times.
- Ensure shelves and displays are tidy, well stocked and merchandised to brand standards.
- Be able to delegate operational tasks and coordinate cross-department support during peak times
- Ensure compliance with company processes, health & safety and cash/credit procedures.
- Share responsibility for branch opening/closing schedules with the Branch Manager.
- Produce timely sales reports, forecasts and activity updates for the Branch Manager and Regional Sales Director.
- Work closely with Purchasing to ensure product availability and promotion execution.
- Collaborate with wider commercial teams to share market feedback and influence product assortment.
- Proven sales experience within electrical wholesale, industrial supplies or a related sector.
- Demonstrable track record of achieving sales and margin targets.
- Strong people leadership skills; experience managing or coaching sales colleagues.
- Excellent customer relationship and negotiation skills.
- Commercially and financially astute with good numeracy skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with ERP/sales systems.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, switch between field sales and branch operational duties and work effectively under pressure.
- Full clean driving licence essential.
- Previous experience in a multi-branch or area sales role.
- Knowledge of local market and trade/contract customer base in Navan and surrounding areas.
- Formal sales or management training/certification.
