- Develop and deliver all elements of the Society's fundraising campaigns including research, development, planning, budgeting, marketing and review.
- Identify, create, market and deliver new and dynamic fundraising streams and campaigns.
- Supervise the campaigns fundraising team to implement the overall fundraising plan and ensure that the team is working effectively and has the appropriate skills, knowledge and tools to achieve plan growth and income.
- Ensure full team processes are documented and shared with relevant parties to ensure compliance and continuity
- Working with the Head of Fundraising and other fundraising managers, develop a fundraising strategy for the Society's campaigns and events.
- Deliver the Irish Cancer Society's fundraising campaigns programme, financial goals and objectives in support of the overall fundraising strategy.
- Manage the fundraising campaigns' financial targets and budgets in line with the overall fundraising strategy; monitor and analyse performance and adjust plans as necessary. Report regularly to the Head of Fundraising.
- Identify and evaluate potential new campaigns and develop new initiatives for existing campaigns. Create plans to phase out less successful fundraising initiatives.
- Monitor market changes and opportunities and competitive activity.
- Ensure that all campaigns comply with legislation pertaining to charities and are properly managed and controlled.
- Understand risk assessment basics and work with Finance and ICS insurance carrier to ensure that the ICS is adequately covered.
- Cash handling, banking, acknowledging and receipting income in accordance with ICS policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding supporter information at all times, and to ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act.
- Keep up-to-date with the current issues and developments in the fundraising arena. Establish memberships and liaise with professional bodies, agencies and other associations to ensure industry best practice. Undertake training as necessary.
- Provide occasional support in the event that another team in the department has an urgent need.
- Assist with special projects as required or self-determined to enhance the Society's fundraising capacity and/or programmatic objectives.
- The Irish Cancer Society operates a no-smoking policy and the post holder must not smoke in the office or when on Society business outside the office.

- Educated to degree level
- 3/5 years proven experience in fundraising, marketing and people management.
- Understanding of the Republic of Ireland not for profit and voluntary sector.
- Strong empathy with and compassion for the ICS's volunteers and supporters, and a passion for putting them first.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and demands.
- Excellent administrative, financial and analytical skills, including planning and budgeting.
- Ability to support the planning development, and delivery of strategies.
- Focussed and driven by financial income targets and deadlines.
- Self-directed and an ability to work independently.
- Self-starter with initiative and drive and ability to think creatively and identify opportunities.
- Establish marketing plans for each campaign and fundraising event with clear objectives and measurable targets for the team.
- Formulate, direct and coordinate marketing activities to promote the Society's fundraising campaigns
- Oversee copy-writing for the Society's campaign materials.
- Evaluate supporter research, market conditions and competitor data
- Coordinate all elements of the Society's fundraising campaigns across all relevant teams from initial concept to delivery and attend and support other events as required.
- Supervise the Campaigns team and all relevant teams to ensure that all campaigns are proceeding to agreed plans, timescales and budgets.
- Contract and manage external agencies and suppliers to ensure projects meet agreed objectives and to ensure cost effectiveness.
- Oversee the flow of creative approvals, copy and design review to ensure projects are delivered within deadlines.
- Ensure the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date records on the ICS Dynamics database for analysis post campaign.
- Oversee the identification, sourcing, development and purchase of premium items, campaign goods, and supporter materials.
- Recruit, develop and supervise the campaigns team, including temporary staff as required. Ensure regular supervision meetings are held, set and review annual objectives, ensure performance management and thoughtful application of the ICS annual appraisal processes.
- Supervise the team processes ensuring that new processes are recorded and followed including team expenditure, holiday/absence, meeting processes, travel and other general ICS procedures.
- Ensure a clear flow of information and work closely with all fundraising teams and other relevant departments (Finance, Communications, Programme and our database team) to share plans in advance of all fundraising campaigns.
- With the support of the Community Fundraising, Supporter Services and Distribution teams, create a work plan in advance of each fundraising campaign with clear actions and timelines,
- Work closely with the Corporate Fundraising Manager to identify potential partners for the Society's fundraising initiatives.
- Work closely with the Communications team to develop effective communication plans for all campaigns and events.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Diplomatic and tactful with the ability to build and maintain relationships within Fundraising, across departments and externally as required.
- A team player with an open and flexible attitude.
- Computer literate including use of databases and Microsoft Office suite. Experience with CRM software an advantage.
- Flexibility to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
- 23 days Annual Leave a year or Pro Rata equivalent, plus public holidays, Good Friday and Christmas Eve (if it falls on a working day)
