**First Year Apprentice Vacancy** Job Description: Opportunity available on dairy farm in Golden, 10 minutes from J9 M8 Cashel. Grass based, spring calving high EBI dairy farm. Modern safe farmyard with excellent facilities. Accommodation available if required. Flexible staff rota in place. Grass measurement & budgeting carried out since 2000, we also carry out financial budgeting & monitoring. We are passionate about Dairy Farming and would like to help some enthusiastic person on their journey. We have had UCC & UCD Ag Science students here for a number of years. This has entailed having them here on work experience on farm and mentoring them with their final year project. What do we offer? We offer training, on farm, through discussion group participation, attendance of farm walks, conferences etc. Duties Include: Day to day running of a dairy herd with replacements. Tasks would include milking & feeding cows, grass measuring & budgeting, involvement in calving & calf rearing. Involved in breeding plan, heat detection and tail painting. Involvement in discussion group meetings on farm & off farm. Some machinery work e.g. fertiliser spreading & feeding.
