Associate DirectorOur client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Associate Director - Tax to join their leadership team in Cork City. This senior role offers the opportunity to deliver high-impact tax consultancy and advisory services across a broad range of industries, while also contributing to the strategic growth and leadership of the tax function.This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded, technically strong tax professional looking to take the next step in their career within a progressive and people-focused firm.Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver expert tax consultancy and advisory services across multiple sectors.
  • Develop and implement tailored tax planning strategies for corporate and individual clients.
  • Prepare and present detailed tax planning reports to clients and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external advisors to provide integrated, client-focused solutions.
  • Conduct ongoing tax research and monitor legislative developments affecting clients.
  • Train, mentor, and support the development of junior and mid-level tax professionals.
  • Review, supervise, and ensure the quality and accuracy of work delivered by the tax team.
  • Lead complex tax consultancy projects, ensuring delivery within agreed timelines and budgets.
  • Identify new business opportunities and support strategic business development initiatives.
  • Assist in managing the operations of the Cork tax department, including WIP, billing, debt collection, and resource planning.
Candidate Requirements:
  • CTA-qualified (Chartered Tax Adviser) essential.
  • An additional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA/ACCA) is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong technical knowledge across multiple tax heads.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience at a senior level in tax consultancy and advisory services.
  • Proven ability to lead, delegate, and manage teams in a fast-paced professional services environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated success in project management and delivering complex tax engagements.
  • Strong commercial acumen and client relationship-building ability.
