The participant will train as a Workshop Assistant while on the placement and be a part of a team. The participant will gain practical experience and be trained in the following: Assist in the workshop to complete their duties in a timely and efficient manner. Train to be compliant with health and safety guidelines in the workshop and in the area outside. Assist the team with obtaining necessary parts as required from the workshop store or through motor factors. Assist in the general upkeep of the workshop as required to keep the environment safe and hazardous free. Train and develop customer service skills including face to face and over the phone interactions. Learn to use the computer software package used in the workshop to support bookings.Role Description The participant will receive formal/ informal training in the following This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role is necessary. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection. This optional module will fulfil your accredited training requirements for the WPEP.
