Service Manager, The Haven, TipperaryLocation: ClonmelContract: Full Time, Specific PurposeThe purpose of this role is to support accommodation to ten young people aged between 16 and 17 years-of-age who have been identified as separated children seeking international protection.What you will do:Work within the framework of the overall objectives of Focus Ireland and under the supervision and direction of the Head of Youth Services.Provide effective leadership, direction and support to residential staff teams.Create and maintain a safe, caring and stable environment for young people placed in the centre, responding appropriately to their changing needs.Manage the centre in compliance with Tusla policies and guidelines, the Child Care (Standards in Children’s Residential Centres) Regulations 1996, and HIQA’s National Standards for Residential Care (2018).Ensure Care and Placement Plans are in place, agreed, implemented and regularly reviewed for all young people in the centre.Promote and uphold the rights and responsibilities of young people, consulting with them, their families, staff and external stakeholders as appropriate.Provide regular supervision to staff, promote staff development, and manage performance in line with best practice, legal requirements and organisational policies.Implement, monitor and review project and agency policies and procedures, including child safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality, complaints, housing and human resources.Coordinate referrals to the service, allocate caseworkers appropriately, and manage effective service delivery.Ensure accurate record‑keeping, statistical information, monthly project reporting and other reports as required by line management.Manage financial systems, contribute to the annual budgeting process, and oversee responsible use of project resources.Work effectively and collaboratively with relevant external agencies and attend team, project and agency meetings as required.Participate in supervision, training, service reviews and evaluations, contribute to the on‑call service, and undertake other duties as assigned by the Head of Youth Services or Services Director.What you will need:Hold a CORU approved Social Care Worker qualification and have applied for CORU registration (evidence of application will be necessary)Management and supervisory experience in a social care setting.Extensive experience working with young people at-risk.Report writing skills.Knowledge and experience of financial management and budgeting.Experience of interagency workingA working knowledge and understanding of residential childcare and the issues affecting young people in the care of the state.Focus Ireland is an equal opportunities employer.#FI1
